Works great! I had my terrier trained in 2 days
We purchased this for our Rat Terrier. He is very smart and was studying all of his basic commands but not"Come". I was worried about his security. Together with the children in and out of the home all summer, something required to be done. As an animal lover I was really torn about the thought of a"shock" collar. Highly effective for training dog
We purchased this in 2010. It is now 2016. It's a terrific way to'get a dog's attention'. Trixie, a 50-60 pound lab mix, can occasionally get a bit out of control. Even a pronged collar isn't as effective as we'd expected. She's a great woman, but again, she occasionally gets mad around other dogs when we are on a walk. Throw this on her, and it is an entirely different world. She starts getting mad and we deliver a small zap. Just like that, she is back to normal. Sometimes it requires a few zaps, but nothing is more effective.
Note: we don't zap to the purpose of mad pain!!! In reality, I have tested the device on my arm to make sure I know the stimulation being delivered to the dog. 4-5 is pretty powerful. And the dog does know... With the time, the requirement to utilize the collar goes down and down and down...
