Works great! I had my terrier trained in 2 days
We purchased this for our Rat Terrier. He is very smart and was studying all of his basic commands but not"Come". I was worried about his security. Together with the children in and out of the home all summer, something required to be done. As an animal lover I was really torn about the thought of a"shock" collar. What sold me was that this one can be set low and may also be used with a"beep". Initially he left the lawn I called him, he did the typical"Ha-yeah right", and took off! He'd yelp, I won't lie:--LRB- He stopped and began to take off again, I repeated. I chased him and gave him treats. I"beeped" him with the control, followed by another beep (still did not come) then a zap,and then he arrived. . .more praise.Read More
Highly effective for training dog
We purchased this in 2010. It is now 2016. It's a terrific way to'get a dog's attention'. Trixie, a 50-60 pound lab mix, can occasionally get a bit out of control. Even a pronged collar isn't as effective as we'd expected. She's a great woman, but again, she occasionally gets mad around other dogs when we are on a walk. Throw this on her, and it is an entirely different world. She starts getting mad and we deliver a small zap. Just like that, she is back to normal. Sometimes it requires a few zaps, but nothing is more effective.
Note: we don't zap to the purpose of mad pain!!! In reality, I have tested the device on my arm to make sure I know the stimulation being delivered to the dog. 4-5 is pretty powerful. And the dog does know... With the time, the requirement to utilize the collar goes down and down and down...
Pros: highly successful. It is going to surely get your dogs attention.Read More
Disadvantages: battery life. You will need to consider buying a bulk package of the watch batteries... The'beeping' is not super loud and isn't quite as effective as the electric stimulus.
Five Star for this product
Works great! I had my rescue terrier trained in two days. She watches me, not the other way round. She's the best dog ever, today.
- Different levels of shock 10 being the highest although 2 is usually all that’s required.
- Has a beep button and a zapper button (most people prefer the beep).
- Automatically shuts off after 8 seconds in case a child has the remote.
- The range is right and doesn’t stun your dog into outer space.
- Great customer service.
- Has a book on training for other bad habits
- Buttons on remote are odd shape and hard to push.
- The on/off button is on front of collar could easily be bumped off.
The PetSafe PDLDT-305 is the best choice for aid in corrective behaviour for pets digging, chewing on furniture, shoes, jumping on guests and barking. The comprehensive training manual that's included can also be well received from present owners. And the receiver is totally waterproof as well, so the training doesn’t have to stop if the weather should take a turn or if at the beach. As with any collar a routine training routine should be adhered to, to yield the best results in your training efforts.
